Displaying a Web Visualization on the Server

Procedure. Adding a visualization user for a web visualization
  1. In the CODESYS Automation Server, click PLCs → List View.

  2. Click the desired PLC.

    The PLC Details view opens.

  3. Open the Visualization tab.

  4. Click the _cds_icon_add.png button.

  5. In the Visualization User dialog, specify the data in the Name, Password, and Repeat password fields. Then click the Save button.

    Note: The new visualization user has to be specified as a user in the device user management of the PLC, and the runtime-based user management has to be configured in the web visualization.

    The recently added visualization user is also displayed in the list.

  6. If you want to set this visualization user as the default user for the web visualizations on the PLC, then enable the Default option.

Procedure. Displaying a web visualization when application synchronization is disabled

Requirements

  • A PLC is specified on the server that contains applications with web visualizations.

  • The Synchronize applications option is not selected on the server.

  • The CODESYS Automation Server is connected to the PLC.

  • The PLC is running.

  1. In the CODESYS Automation Server, click PLCs → List View.

    The desired PLC is displayed and identified with a solid green circle.

  2. Click the _cas_icon_open_visu.png button.

    A dialog with the available visualization users and the HTM files, which are located on the PLC in the visualization folder, is displayed. When a user is defined as the default user, the Default option is enabled.

  3. If necessary, you can change the default user or select Open without login if you do not want to use a visualization user defined on the Automation Server. In this case, when you open the web visualization, the login page opens which is configured in the visualization. When you select a visualization user, the credentials which are stored in CODESYS Automation Server are automatically used when the web visualization is opened.

  4. Click the desired HTM file.

    According to your settings, the web visualization opens or first the login page of the web visualization opens.

  5. As an alternative, you could also click the _cas_icon_open_visu.png button in the PLC Details view to display the web visualization. This view opens when you click the _cas_icon_details.png button in the list view.

Procedure. Displaying a web visualization when application synchronization is enabled

Requirements

  • You have a CODESYS project on the server and deployed a PLC.

  • The CODESYS project contains a web visualization.

  • The Synchronize applications option is selected on the server.

  • The CODESYS Automation Server is connected to the PLC.

  • The PLC is running.

  1. In the CODESYS Automation Server, click PLCs → List View.

    The desired PLC is displayed and identified with a solid green circle.

  2. Click the _cas_icon_open_visu.png button.

    A dialog with the available visualization users and web visualizations of the CODESYS project is displayed. When a visualization user is defined as the default user, the Default option is enabled.

  3. If necessary, you can change the default user or select Open without login if you do not want to use a visualization user defined on the Automation Server. In this case, when you open the web visualization, the login page opens which is configured in the visualization. When you select a visualization user, the credentials which are stored in CODESYS Automation Server are automatically used when the web visualization is opened.

  4. Click the desired web visualization.

    According to your settings, the web visualization opens or first the login page of the web visualization opens.

  5. As an alternative, you could also click the _cas_icon_open_visu.png button in the PLC Details view to display the web visualization. This view opens when you click the _cas_icon_details.png button in the list view.
